Government Lake Park was founded in 1919. Park patrons have access to two private lakes as well as two other lakes that border the property, great for fishing and boating! Within fifteen miles, there are twenty superb trout streams, including the famous Pere Marquette, which branches into the Little Manistee River, as well as numerous beautiful fishing lakes. The park offers overnight cabins with a great lakeside lodge that provides family dining & spirits. Our bar section is located adjacent to the family dining area. During the warmer seasons, patio dining is available, which allows guests to overlook the peaceful lake. Built with real, varnished logs and wood floors, Government Lake Lodge offers a rustic dining experience, with a friendly atmosphere. Come for the great view, enjoy the great food, and stick around for a great time!
"I frequent Government Lake Lodge and find myself to keep coming back. The Burrito is addictive and the burger selection is second to non. Service was very attentive to what I need as well as very welcoming. LOVED IT."
"Found this place by accident and we are coming back! Great service, great food, great company, great view and special jeep parking, AND they let us bring Molly (my dog) on the deck! I rate it FANTABULOUS!"
"So good! The food is good. The prices are good. The views are good. The staff are on point. I genuinely appreciate not having to wait forever, even when it's busy. We've been here several times and have never had a bad experience. It's a great place to have a beer, watch the game, and enjoy the view. It's a great spot year round! They even have fireworks around the fourth of July!"
